DEDICOM offers communication systems for railways and public transport. This includes EoSDH and SDH backbone networks carrying all data for traffic control, Access Multiplexers for low order tributary interconnections, PABX interconnections, WAN and LAN traffic, telephones, power control, passenger information, public address systems and CCTV.

The backbone networks are often based on EoSDH and SDH using Fibre Optical cables, due to their inherent capacity and noise immunity advantages. However, transmission based on Cu-cable or based on Microwave links is offered as well.

Vital data for signalling, such as ATC and ATP, can be carried over the SDH network, if the protocols used by these systems are compatible with the structure and functioning of telecommunication networks (e.g. packet-based data transmission). The high bandwidth inherent to Fibre Optical networks makes it possible to generate an additional revenue stream, by selling excess bandwidth or fibre capacity to service providers or other industries.
